Step outside the script through Conversation Clubs designed to build confidence and spontaneous communication.

Bring everything together through an original play, musical, short film, or other creative productions—and celebrate what your community created together.

Hey there!! I'm Elijah/Elías.
Welcome to CaliSpanish!
Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, I started this path simply wanting to connect with my friends and community members who spoke Spanish. That small spark of interest has since grown into a lifelong adventure!
Having earned my B.A. in Economics and Spanish in California and completed a transformative study abroad program in Mérida, Yucatán, I am eager to bring the adventure to you!
I created CaliSpanish to keep PEOPLE central to language acquisition. With everything we do, I strive to use my background and experiences creatively and effectively to guide you toward meaningful interactions with others, because I believe relationship-building is the best gauge of success in linguistic development.
Experience and Credentials
Educational Background
Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Claremont McKenna College. Study and field research of linguistic politics in education.
Life Abroad
Extensive international study featuring full-immersion coursework and homestay, resulting in fluency, and most importantly, many new friends!
Teaching Background
Volunteer English teacher in Mérida and multilingual assistant at the Ontario-Montclair School District, supporting students in Spanish, English, and Mandarin.
